Where do I catch them?
Yakkas are great little live bait fish. You will find them around standing structures – like wharves.

The best time to catch Yakkas is in the morning or late in the afternoon, though you can catch them all through the day.

How big do they get?

Most will be in the 10 – 20cm range. (They can grow up to 33cm – though very rare)

NSW: There is no legal size. For live bait you should be looking for 10-15cm

Set up a burley trail of bread crumbs. Use a bait jig or single size 10 hook with a bit of squid or prawn.
