I have a new first mate, who I hope will enjoy coming with me on future fishing trips.

Meet Gizmo, a full working Kelpie from Noonburra stud out near Orange, NSW.

This was her first day on the boat and she seemed to quite like it. Though Gen was very worried little Gizmo was going to take a swim as she explored the boat.

She very nearly did to – though I was quick to catch her before she ended up in the water. She learnt her lesson well, staying in the boat for the rest of the trip
